Husband of model and actress, 23, who was bashed to death inside her own home is arrested

  • Sabah Hafiz, 23, was found beaten to death on Wednesday morning in Sydney
  • Ms Hafiz lived in western Sydney and was an aspiring model and actress 
  • Husband Adam Cureton, 24, was arrested on Thursday at a home in  Maroubra

The husband of a woman who was found bashed to death in her home has been arrested. 

Sabah Hafiz, 23, was discovered with multiple injuries by a neighbour in Lane Street, Wentworthville, in western Sydney, at 2.40am Wednesday.

Paramedics rushed to the home and fought hard to save her but sadly she died at the scene. 

Investigators launched a search for her husband, Adam Cureton, 24, who reportedly also lived at the address. 

He was arrested at a home in Astoria Court in Maroubra at 11am on Thursday.

He has been taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he is assisting with police inquiries.

Friends and family have been left devastated by Ms Hafiz’s death.

The estranged father of Ms Hafiz wept as he arrived at the scene on Wednesday. 

‘She was a good girl,’ he told the Daily Telegraph

Police said Ms Hafiz had been assaulted and they don’t believe a weapon had been used. 

‘It is a tragic outcome — we are taking it extremely seriously and we have established a strike force to investigate the circumstances of this murder,’ Detective Acting Superintendent Simon Glasser told the ABC

Ms Hafiz has a StarNow.com listing in which she describes herself as an aspiring model and extra who was seeking work in the showbusiness industry. 

‘I’m trying to get experience in this field and if I do get paid, that’s great too,’ Ms Hafiz wrote.

‘It’s something I never thought about doing, but I do enjoy being spontaneous and trying new hobbies from time to time so yeah, really keen to do this.’ 

Mr Hafiz said he had never met Mr Cureton but understood the pair had been married for a few years. 

A man who lives in the unit one floor above Ms Hafiz described her as quiet. 

‘She was kind of like a loner. She didn’t really speak to anyone, but she was really an attractive woman,’ he said. 

Despite the best efforts of could paramedics who attended her home in Lane Street, Wentworthville (pictured), Ms Hafiz could not be saved and passed away at the scene
