Hours after getting put in as the brand new prime minister on Wednesday on the National Palace, Claude Joseph stated the answer to Haiti’s ongoing violence is the elections.
“Delivering free, fair and transparent elections is the top priority for this administration and the only way to create long-term peace and prosperity for all Haitians,” Joseph posted on his Twitter account.
Nevertheless, human rights specialists have stated that the elections will worsen the continuing violence.
Joseph can also be the international minister. He changed Joseph Jouthe as prime minister after he resigned on Wednesday. Joseph is the sixth prime minister below President Jovenel Moise.
