A teenager has been arrested after she allegedly refused to stop twerking in a McDonald’s restaurant.

Police were called to the Dalby restaurant, in Queensland, at 12.30am on November 20 over reports of a disturbance.

The young woman, 18, allegedly continued to twerk and do handstands despite repeatedly being asked by staff to stop.

She was arrested and charged public nuisance and obstructing police, which could see her face a fine of up to $5,200 or 6 months’ behind bars.

At one point during the incident she grabbed a mop and began mopping the floor, police allege.

Staff asked her to leave but she refused, the Courier Mail reported.

She then allegedly jumped on the counter and continued to twerk until police arrived.

Senior constable Brad Davidson said the woman then allegedly tried to lock herself in the bathroom before she was arrested.

She was charged with public nuisance and obstructing police.

The teen will face Dalby Magistrates Court on December 15.
