New South Wales hit with MORE new coronavirus cases than Victoria – with an infected family putting a childcare centre and school on alert as a teacher tests positive
- New South Wales recorded seven new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday
New South Wales has recorded more cases of COVID-19 than Victoria.
The state recorded seven new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday compared to Victoria’s one case.
Of the seven cases, two of them are overseas travellers in hotel quarantine while the other five are from local transmissions.
Three of the locally acquired cases are from one family and an educator who attended the Greater Beginnings Childcare Centre in Oran Park.
The four cases are linked to a close contact of a previous contact.
The fifth positive case is a student who goes to Oran Park High School, as staff and students are asked to isolate.
This student is a close contact of a known confirmed case linked to the Liverpool Private Clinic cluster.
Contact tracing is continuing with the school undergoing a deep clean over the weekend.
More to come.
