A man has been shot in the neck and another person has been injured in an incident in Sydney.  

Police and several ambulances are at the scene of the shooting which is unfolding in Wahroonga, in the city’s Upper North Shore.

The man, aged in his 50s, was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital on Thursday morning in a serious condition.

A 74-year-old man was also treated at the scene for facial injuries, before being airlifted to the same hospital under police guard, a police spokesman said. 

A crime scene has been established, and two firearms have been seized.

The men are known to each other and an investigation into circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
