Disgraced footy star Ben Barba was told to ‘f*** off’ before he punched his brother-in-law in the face after barging into his estranged wife’s home.
The Dally M Award winner was convicted on Friday of assaulting Adrian Currie at an East Mackay home, in Queensland, on December 1.
The home is owned by Mr Currie’s sister and Barba’s former partner and mother of his four children, Ainslie.
Ms Currie had taken out a domestic violence order against Barba that prevented him from visiting the property without written consent.

The court heard Barba had breached the order after he barged into the home demanding to see his former partner.
Mr Currie tried to stop Barba from setting foot inside the property before he told him that ‘you’re not allowed to be here – f*** off’, Courier Mail reported.
Barba then punched his brother-in-law several times including the face.
Police prosecutor David Epstein said the incident unfolded several days after Barba bombarded his former partner with phone calls.
The court heard Barba called Ms Currie 50 times before visiting her home while she was trying to go to work on November 27.
He then followed her to her car and jumped into the back seat when she got behind the wheel, the court heard.
Mr Epstein said that Barba demanded answers to questions before Ms Currie began to drive.
Barba then jumped out of the car before ‘slamming the door with force’.
The fallen footy star had been married to Ms Currie for 17 years before the pair separated six months ago.
It was also not the first time Barba had assaulted his brother-in-law.
Barba had assaulted Mr Currie at McGuires Hotel in Mackay on February 22, 2020.
Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan said she believed a longer period of probation would be more beneficial than a short time in jail
Mr Currie had called Barba a ‘wife basher’ before the football player punched him in the face.
‘I punched the c**ksucker in the face because he doesn’t like me and called me a wife basher,’ he later told police.
On Friday, Barba pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm in a domestic setting and three counts of contravening a domestic violence order.
Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan said she believed a longer period of probation would be more beneficial than a short time in jail.
He was sentenced to two years probation and a conviction recorded.
