The daughter of a woman killed when she was allegedly stabbed to death on Christmas Day has posted a moving tribute to her mother.
Rachel Wake, 52, was allegedly stabbed at her home at Mornington in Hobart’s east on Christmas Day.
Paramedics found the Tasmanian midwife in a serious condition with knife wounds to her upper body. She later died in Royal Hobart Hospital.
Her teenage daughter Romany, who was reportedly present during the violent attack along with her teenage brother, Gabriel, took to Facebook to post an emotional tribute to her mother.

‘I love you, and I miss you dearly. I wish we could have spent more time roller skating, rock climbing, and going to local theatre and screaming songs in our late night shopping runs,’ Romany wrote.
‘I’m going to miss your over filtered photos, your hugs as I had a bad day, and our cooking. I wish our last hug was one bit tighter.
‘I hope your looking over me and laughing at my bad choices, and supporting my good ones, and giving me extra luck at my softball games.
‘I love you dearly, and I’ll always be your annoying daughter.’
A man known to Ms Wake, Darren Mark Wake, 60, has been charged by Tasmanian police with murder.
He appeared at the Hobart Magistrates Court on Boxing Day and on Monday but did not enter a plea.

Further tributes to Ms Wake have appeared on Facebook and on a Gofundme page set up in her honour, praising her dedication to midwifery.
‘Rachel helped and cared for Willo on the maternity ward (March 2021) when we nearly lost our baby girl,’ one man wrote.
‘You touched our baby daughter Billie and bought life back to her soul whilst comforting Willo.’
Another woman said Ms Wake had supported her and her husband ‘through miscarriages and the birth of our two boys.’
‘Our first (Sam) was born prem. We spent a month in the Special Care Nursery with Rachel and lots of conversations were had about her love for her children.
‘She was kind, patient and very understanding.’
The fundraising page had raised over $80,000 on Tuesday morning.
