Governor Wike presents N483 billion budget to Rivers House of Assembly – Nairametrics
Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Governor has presented a N483 billion budget proposal for approval for the 2022 financial year.
Mr Wike presented the budget on Friday at the state house of assembly in Port Harcourt. The budget is themed, “budget for consolidation.”
What the Governor is saying
Governor Wike said the budget consists of N314 billion capital expenditure which represents 70 per cent and a N144 billion recurrent expenditure representing 30 percent.
Mr Ikunyi-Owaji Ibani, the speaker of the house, in response to the budget presentation, commended the efforts of the Governor in the revenue performance of the state which had exceeded 80 percent in October.
“The policy thrust of the governor in 2022 has been elaborately outlined to the knowledge of Rivers people and as representatives, we commend you.” Mr Ibani said.
