Nasarawa governor leads governors committed to vaccinating 50% of eligible population by January 2022 – Nairametrics
The Federal Government through the National Healthcare Development Agency has ranked the top 5 performing governors committed to vaccinating 50% of the eligible population in their states by 31st January 2022.
The governors are; Abdullahu Sule (Nasarwawa), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq (Kwara) and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti).
This was disclosed by the NPHCDA on Friday in a statement accessing the COVID-19 mass vaccination campaign in Nigeria.
4 of the top 5 ranked states so far come from the South West region of Nigeria, with Nasarawa State ranked 7.80 in the first place of the rankings, revealing the percentage of targeted population vaccinated so far.
Lagos State came 6th place in the rankings with 3.01% while the Federal Capital Territory came 15th place with 1.24% of the target population vaccinated.
The 5 worst-performing states with low number ofvaccinated population are, Sokoto (0.08), Imo (0.07%), Taraba (0.04%), Ebonyi (0.02%) and Anambra (0.01%).
The NPHCDA also reported that as of December 1st, 2021, in 36 States + the FCT, a total number of 6,808,057 of the total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination were reached with the first dose, while 3,697,773 persons were reached with the second dose (fully vaccinated), as Lagos State leads with the highest number of fully vaccinated Nigerians at 697,549.
