Dalia Garay, 35, was watching a soccer game with her 29-year-old boyfriend, when her ex-husband opened fire at the couple around 10am Sunday in the parking lot of the Matias Almeyda Training Center facility in North Houston.
This is the pregnant mother-of-four said to have been shot dead by her ex-husband after he spotted her with her new boyfriend at their young son’s soccer game.
Dalia Garay, 35, was watching the game with her 29-year-old boyfriend, when her ex-husband opened fire at the couple around 10am Sunday in the parking lot of the Matias Almeyda Training Center facility in North Houston.
The gunman has since been identified as 42-year-old Lucio Estrada Molina by medical examiners and relatives.
Footage taken by KPRC-2 reveals Sunday’s soccer tournament in Houston being halted as gunshots echo out and the young players rush to escape the field, with several seen vaulting over a fence in a desperate bid to escape the shooting.
Horrified eyewitness Angel Guerro recalled: ‘I was on the bench. I was watching the game. I heard the first gunshot. I looked around to see what was happening.
‘I thought it was like a car crashing or a wheel exploding or something like that. That’s when I saw the guy pick up the gun and started.’
Molina then opened fire on Garay and her boyfriend with his silver revolver, fatally-injuring both.
When deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene, they discovered the man dead and Garay mortally-wounded.
Garay was fatally-wounded at the scene, and rushed to hospital where she later died. Her boyfriend, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene

Molina reportedly shot Garay before fleeing the scene, according to a statement tweeted out by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

The man reportedly shot the woman before fleeing the scene, according to a statement tweeted out by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
About two hours later, deputies later discovered Molina at a Greater Inwood residence, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Srgt Beall told the Houston Chronicle.
According to authorities, Molina allegedly texted relatives of his plans to kill himself.
Police also mentioned it is unclear who the father of Garay’s unborn child was.
According to Dalia’s uncle, Carlos Garay, Dalia and her ex-husband had four children together.
Dalia’s uncle also told KTRK-TV reporters his family is uncertain of how long his niece has been dating her new boyfriend.
Investigators said more than 100 people were at the facility at the time of the shooting, including dozens of teenagers.
