A rescue mission is underway to save four people who became trapped by falling debris after a cliff they were sitting on crumbled under them south-west of Melbourne.
Part of the cliff collapsed about 2.15pm near Southside Beach, a nude beach not far from Bells Beach, on New Year’s Eve.
Three people have been confirmed as injured in the incident.
Police said six people were sitting under the cliff when it collapsed, with debris falling on three people.
A man and a woman suffered non-life threatening injuries while a 28-year-old man was evacuated by helicopter.
No-one else was hurt.
