MIAMI — Hours after leaving Port-au-Prince Wednesday, Todd Robinson, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, said officials need to be more efficient in helping Haiti.
“It’s not a secret that there’s a lot of fear in Port-au-Prince because of what’s going on and it’s understandable,” Robinson told The Haitian Times during a stop at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex (LHCC). “We all need to do better for ordinary Haitians.”
Haiti has been experiencing a severe fuel shortage for nearly one month because a gang took control of the Port-au-Prince port where gas comes in and is stored, on top of kidnappings that have skyrocketed following the assassination of the country’s president.
